Rescue, protect and rehome
At Wardog we save injured and abandoned dogs from countries at war, provide shelter and treatment while they recover, and help find loving homes to adopt them.
Pets abandoned from war
The war in Ukraine has not only had a devastating effect on the country’s human population, but has been a total disaster for animals. Many pets have become innocent and helpless victims, getting killed or injured by barbaric rocket attacks and shrapnel, which have left streets littered with metal and glass.
Close to an estimated half a million dogs in Ukraine have become strays as owners have abandoned them when fleeing the country.
Our goal is to rescue as many animals as possible.

About us
At Wardog, we are committed to rescuing and protecting injured and abandoned dogs from countries affected by war. Our organisation was founded with the goal of providing a safe haven for dogs that have been caught up in the devastation of war, particularly in Ukraine, where the situation for animals has been particularly dire. We believe that all dogs deserve love and care, regardless of their circumstances, and we are dedicated to making sure that as many animals as possible receive the help they need.
Our work at Wardog is focused on three main areas: rescue, protection, and rehoming. We work tirelessly to locate dogs in need and bring them to safety, providing them with shelter and medical care as soon as possible. Once they are healthy, we then work to find them loving homes where they can live out their lives surrounded by care and affection.
One of the most heartbreaking aspects of our work is seeing the impact that war has on pets and their owners. Many people in countries at war are forced to flee their homes, often leaving their pets behind. As a result, many animals are left alone and vulnerable, struggling to survive in harsh conditions. We believe that it is our responsibility to step in and help these animals, giving them the chance to start anew in a safe and loving environment.
Our team at Wardog is made up of dedicated people who share a passion for animal welfare. We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the lives of animals affected by war. We are constantly striving to improve our operations and find new ways to help more animals in need. We also rely heavily on donations from individuals who share our commitment to animal welfare, and we are grateful for the support of those who help us carry out our mission.
As an organisation, we are based in Sainte Foy Tarentaise, Savoie, France, but we offer adaoption across Europe. We are committed to making a positive impact wherever we can, and we work closely with local organisations and individuals to achieve our goals. Our work is challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding, and we are inspired every day by the resilience and strength of the dogs we work with.
